Hazelnut Smoothie

Hazelnuts are rich in nutrients and have a high content of protein, fats, vitamins and minerals. They are also loaded with antioxidants. Consuming them has been linked with heart health, lower blood sugar, decrease in inflammation, and a lower risk of cancer.

This time of year, a cold smoothie may be the last thing you want to enjoy. But the beauty of this hazelnut recipe is, it can be warmed up and enjoyed with a sprinkle of cinnamon on a cold winter day! Once you’ve made the recipe, warm it over a low heat to enjoy it hot.

  • 1 cup raw hazelnuts
  • 3 dates
  • Dash of ground cinnamon
  • Dash of sea salt
  • 3 cups of water

Place all ingredients in the blender and mix on high speed until smooth. Option to add more water for a thinner consistency. Option to garnish with more cinnamon.

*to make this recipe chocolate, add one tablespoon of powdered unsweetened cacao
